A strange brake problem.

They do? Not one mine lol I think I was in clutch master fail mode and wrote down clutch because it is a tell tale sign of failed master cylinder seals.

All cured, it was the brake proportioning valve. It should have given me some warning of low brake fluid on the idiot light but the globe was blown in that. All new assembly and a good bleed and it's home again.

Nice and easy then, good that he went as far as testing the bulb... many would just have replaced the valve and left it at that

Yes, it was raining heavily, some flood water driven through,  and the water just washed away all the fluid.
