Why is it sad ?
Im not sad it pays my bills.
I have 1000's of very happy customers
If you dont agree with Land Rovers being broken you can do 2 things to stop it....never buy second hand parts...buy up all the ones that need work and rebuild them youself using brand new bits.
I would hazzard a guess that pretty close to 100% of the people on here have used second hand parts.
"sad sign of the times"..... what utter rubbish , its the way its always been , there will always be people that profit from breaking things down.
Recycling of parts and keeping lots of Land Rovers up and running is surley a good thing ? |
Oh how easily typed word can be misconstrued.
I have no doubt as to the economics involved in making the decision to rebuild and sell or dimantle and sell. I broke up my old tdi and sold the bits for three times more than I paid for whole vehicle.
What I meant was, its a sad sign of the times that with a vehicle that appeared to be as unusual and in good nick as the two pictures you posted displayed, assuming the engine and gearbox were sweet, then a simple chassis swap for a good one or even a galv if someone was willing to pay the price would have been preferable. But there we go, as you say it pays the bills and keeps other vehicles running :)
As you know I would quite happily purchase used parts so long as I know they are servicable and genuine, and I have no issues with the used part market at all.
